According to the Hue Department of Tourism, hotel occupancy rate can reach 80% on average, spiking to 95% from August 29-31, with some establishments expected to be fully-booked.
It has asked accommodation providers, travel companies, restaurants, and tourist attractions to prepare staff members accordingly and ensure that facilities and measures for hygiene, food safety, and fire prevention are in place.
There will be art performances, re-enactments, and royal court music at Hue's heritage sites. Le Cong Son, Deputy Director of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, said: “We're holding an international music program, the Hue Wonderverse, for this year's National Day holiday. On top of that, we're also working with the Department of Education and Training to honor outstanding students in the city and organize a re-enactment of the Truyen Lo ceremony at Ngo Mon Square, which is a formal royal court ritual of the Nguyen Dynasty where the emperor officially proclaimed and honored scholars who passed the highest national doctoral examinations."
On September 2, Vietnamese citizens can visit the Complex of Hue Monuments free-of-charge.
