Former fnance minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal was sworn in as finance minister, while Kulman Ghising, former managing director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, will be in charge of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Urban Development.
Om Prakash Aryal, a lawyer who previously served as a legal advisor to the Kathmandu mayor, will head the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Sushila Karki, a former chief justice, was sworn in as Nepal's first woman prime minister on Friday. Nepal, which faces high youth unemployment and a low per capita GDP of just 1,447 USD, will hold a general election on March 5 next year.
