Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a state banquet in Hanoi on Monday evening in honour of General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his spouse, and a high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State, who are on a state visit to Vietnam.

Party General Secretary Lam emphasized that the notable achievements, strategic orientations, long-term vision, and major policy decisions set forth by the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the 12th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, will serve as a solid foundation for the two countries to further deepen their special solidarity and strengthen the Vietnam–Laos strategic bond.

“Cooperation between the Parties, States, and peoples of the two countries is of special importance. We reaffirm our continued wholehearted support, cooperation, and companionship with Laos in promoting the important achievements, overcoming all challenges, and successfully fulfilling the goals and strategic tasks set out by the 12th Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party,” said Mr. Lam.

He underscored that in the current context, “more than ever, the two Parties, States, and peoples must tighten our bond, join hands with unity and determination, strongly uphold the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance, and continue to advance the revolutionary cause of our two nations steadily forward.”

Lao Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith said Laos and Vietnam are standing together at the “dawn of a new era”, an era of strong advancement toward new goals. He affirmed that Laos will make every effort, together with Vietnam, to protect and strengthen the great friendship and special solidarity and pass it on to future generations so that it will be safeguarded and preserved forever.
