Prime Minister Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee for building nuclear power plants, chaired the third meeting of the Steering Committee in Hanoi, where he said national energy security and stable electricity supply are urgent requirements for economic development.

Vietnam is focusing on high tech, chip production, building national data centers, high-speed railway and urban railways, PM Chinh said, adding that’s why the demand for electricity is high and it’s urgent to develop power sources.

Citing the Politburo’s Resolution 70 on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Industry and Trade to propose the National Assembly and its Standing Committee to issue a Resolution on mechanisms and policies to immediately resolve nuclear power problems.
