The restoration was done by a group of young artists from the “Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers” organization.

The portrait presentation was part of a commemorative program to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) jointly organized by the “Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers” organization, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, the Dương Clan Council in Hanoi, and the “Forever 20” Club.

Colonel Dang Vuong Hung, founder and Chairman of the "Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers" organization, said, “Four selected female Heroic Martyrs of the People’s Public Security Forces were Nguyen Thi Loi, Bui Thi Cuc, Cao Ky Van, and Vo Thi Sau. We also presented four other restored images of fallen martyrs, including that of revolutionary veteran Duong Quang Tri, the owner of the historic residence that recently became the subject of a published memoir.”

Introduced at the event was the historical memoir of Duong Viet Tien, son of Duong Quang Tri. The book, titled “The Beloved Old House”, was published by the Vietnam Writers’ Association Publishing House.

The memoir recounts the story of the house located at No. 8, Alley 120, Vinh Tuy street, Hanoi, which once served as the clandestine printing site of the Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper in the lead-up to the National Congress in Tan Trao. The intellectual family who lived there harbored and supported revolutionary cadres and made quiet but critical contributions to the resistance movement.

The owner, Duong Quang Tri, also operated the Bach Mai Radio Station, which broadcast several of the Vietnamese revolution’s most important moments.

As part of the commemorative program, the “Heart of Vietnamese Soldiers” Documentation Center received two wartime notebooks kept by Nguyen Thuy, a wounded veteran, former teacher, and anti-aircraft artilleryman.
The handwritten diaries were kept during his days on the northwestern battlefield and during a mission in Laos from 1963 to 1968. One of the diaries, titled “Quick Notes on the Gun Platform”, is slated for publication on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, November 20.
