The victim, identified as 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, was a mother of three. Thousands of protesters rallied against ICE on Saturday, leading to clashes with federal officers who used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

The Department of Homeland Security said the shooting was an act of self-defense, calling the incident “domestic terrorism.” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey rejected that claim as unreasonable, while Minnesota officials said the FBI has taken over the investigation.
