Le Ba Chung, a resident of Gia Lam commune on the outskirts of Hanoi, said the master plan’s orientation towards expanding transport links between urban areas will significantly improve connectivity and make travel more convenient if implemented in a coordinated manner. It could even spare his children the need to rent accommodation while attending university in the city center.
“I have seen Hanoi continue to grow and develop. As a citizen, I fully support the city’s programs and plans. My hope is that this master plan will be implemented successfully and deliver outstanding results,” said Chung.
Le Tuan Anh, Director of VNSKILL Joint Stock Company, said the capital’s century-long vision provides an important foundation for businesses to formulate appropriate strategies. Enterprises hope that city leaders will act decisively to bring the aspiration of creating a civilised and modern capital to reality through clear roadmaps and implementation of plans.
He said he hopes to see the creation of a new investment and business environment, infrastructure development, and policy orientations for various industries. “More particularly, we welcome the city’s development strategy aligned with the digital era. I see many positive signs ahead,” said Tuan Anh.
Under the master plan, Hanoi aims to become a “cultural, civilised, modern and happy” city and a leading centre for the economy, education, healthcare and innovation in the Asia-Pacific region by 2035.
By 2045, Hanoi is expected to emerge as a global hub of knowledge and technology on par with the capitals of developed countries. By 2065 and beyond, Hanoi will join those world capitals with the highest quality of life and level of happiness.
