The work was carried out at all 18 martyrs’ cemeteries in the province, with samples collected from more than 18,500 graves. Of these, over 15,300 graves met the required conditions for DNA testing.
At the same time, efforts are continuing to search for and repatriate the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who lost their lives in Cambodia during different periods of war.
In the next phase, search and recovery teams will conduct operations in eight Cambodian provinces.
