Last year forces of the Naval Force Region 5 made great efforts in ensuring security and safety of the maritime boundaries and coordinating with local authorities for COVID-19 prevention and control, social security, and natural disaster prevention.

Rear Admiral Nguyen Dang Tien, Political Commissar of the Naval Force Region 5, said: “The visits are meaningful activities to comfort islanders and soldiers stationed in southwest islands. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of visitors is limited and we have to strictly abide by pandemic preventive regulations. We have exerted great effort to organize the visits, which have a special meaning compared to previous trips before the pandemic. The number of delegates is less, but the affection we bring them is still as full as before.”
