The agreement was reached at the meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC), hosted by Malaysia on Thursday, with the attendance of Acting Thai Defense Minister General Nattaphon Narkphanit, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Tea Seiha, and representative observers from Malaysia, the United States, and China.

Both sides pledged to avoid provocative actions and refrain from spreading misinformation in order to maintain a conducive environment for dialogue. They reaffirmed their commitment to international humanitarian law, including the immediate collection and repatriation of soldiers' remains. The return of each side’s lawful property will be carried out in accordance with the Third Geneva Convention.

To ensure transparency in implementing the agreement, a temporary observer group, consisting of military personnel from ASEAN countries led by Malaysia will be deployed along the border, operating within the permitted territorial boundaries.
