The top leader was speaking at a ceremony to present the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Military Region 3 of Ministry of National Defense, held in Hai Phong. He emphasized that in the context of the country's new development, military and national defense tasks are posing many major and urgent issues.
“It’s imperative to coordinate with other forces, Party committees, and local governments to build a national defense system, a national defense posture, linked with a solid “people's support’ posture.” Efforts should be made to contribute to building Quang Ninh-Hai Phong into a major economic growth pole in the Red River Delta region, and Hanoi-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh into a major growth pole of the North and the whole country. Build a team of cadres and Party members with strong political acumen, high qualifications, capabilities, and responsibility to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation,” Mr. Lam said.
Earlier, General Secretary and President To Lam visited and offered incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs at the Memorial House of the Armed Forces of Military Region 3.
