Chairing a working session of the Central Steering Committee on the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Hanoi on Thursday, Mr. Lam, who is Head of the Central Steering Committee, called for a comprehensive review of critical information systems across Party and State agencies, defense, security, banking, energy, and telecommunications sectors in order to develop an appropriate transition roadmap, ensuring early and proactive preparedness while focusing investments on key priorities.
He particularly emphasized the importance of human resources and innovation ecosystems, including the establishment of strong domestic research groups, expanded international cooperation, and the attraction of overseas Vietnamese scientists and international experts to participate in building Vietnam’s quantum technology capabilities.
Mr. Lam said: “We must formulate and issue a National Strategy on Quantum Technology at an early stage and establish a National Center for Quantum Technology, supported by several strong research groups and nationally standardized key laboratories. We should develop a comprehensive quantum technology ecosystem and select three to five national pilot projects to concentrate resources for implementation."
"We also need to launch training programs for approximately 1,000 core personnel at various levels in quantum technology, while establishing a selective international cooperation network with strong partners, accompanied by conditions for knowledge transfer, workforce training, and participation in the quantum industry value chain,” said Mr. Lam.
