Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to visit Moscow and Kyiv this weekend in a renewed US effort to revive peace talks that have stalled for months. The two officials are scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday before traveling to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday.
The two envoys have previously taken part in several rounds of negotiations with Russia and met President Putin in Moscow.
Their visit comes as fighting between Russia and Ukraine has intensified, making security a key concern during their mission.
