On the same day, 1,000 Hanoians and visitors joined the opening ceremony of Hanoi Book Street program which will run until the end this month. On this occasion, a large number of books will be discounted 10 to 50%.

Pam Tuan Long, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem district, said the Hanoi Book Street can truly become a cultural destination after six years of operation.

“We’ve connected organizations, publishing houses, and writers to hold as many exchanges and book introduction events as possible to increase the number of readers,” said Long.

Other activities on Hanoi Book Street include exchanges, seminars, book introductions, and cultural and entertainment programs.

The highlight of this year’s Book and Reading Culture Day in Ho Chi Minh city is the introduction of 10 Reading Culture Ambassadors. Each of them with their own stories, will spread the messages of books, beautiful lifestyles, and inspire people to read, especially the youth.
