Briefing the Lao leader on the outcomes of his talks with Lao Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, Prime Minister Hung said the two sides had reached consensus on major matters aimed at further deepening the Vietnam-Laos relationship and making it more substantive and effective. The two sides signed 11 cooperation documents across various sectors.
The two leaders affirmed the consistent policy and top priority each country accords to preserving and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic bond between Vietnam and Laos. They emphasized the special, enduring relationship between the two Parties, States, and peoples, who are building and sharing development opportunities together.
The leaders agreed to effectively implement measures to boost bilateral relations and to strengthen economic connectivity by promoting links in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and science and technology, while also intensifying cooperation in culture, education and training, people-to-people exchanges, and locality-to-locality ties.
Furthermore, they agreed to enhance exchanges and consultations on strategic issues amidst the rapidly evolving and complex regional and international landscape, and to continue close coordination at regional and international forums, contributing to maintaining an environment of peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
Also on Thursday, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with President of the Lao National Assembly Sonexay Siphandone. Briefing the host on the outcomes of his talks with Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith and his meeting with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Hung said the two sides agreed to implement the commitments and agreements made by the high-level leadership of the two Parties and countries, with a determination to bring about a strong, qualitative shift in the relationship.
The same day, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith co-chaired a Vietnam-Laos investment promotion conference. The Vietnamese PM met with Laopaoxong Navongxay, Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction, and Boviengkham Vongdala, President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association.
