Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said the trip is highly significant both bilaterally and multilaterally, as it will advance Vietnam's foreign policy adopted at the 14th National Party Congress, strengthen political trust, create a favorable external environment for Vietnam’s new development era and mobilize international resources for national development.
She noted that the Russia visit is of especially important historical significance as it is the first state visit by Vietnam’s top Party and State leader to Russia since 1991, and comes shortly after the 14th National Party Congress and the election of the 16th National Assembly.
Hang said this will also be Party General Secretary and State President To Lam’s second official visit to France, and the second time a Vietnamese Party and State leader has attended an international event hosted by France. Notably, this is the world’s first summit-level international conference dedicated to space.”
On the multilateral front, Mr. To Lam’s participation in the Space Summit in Paris reflects Vietnam’s vision for development and proactive international integration, particularly in science, technology and innovation.
