The conference brought together experts on Vietnam from Australia, Japan and Vietnam. Participants discussed the country’s transformation over the past four decades, covering tourism, urban expansion and its impact on rice-growing land, Vietnam’s diplomatic policies, export growth, higher education, foreign investment and the development of the private sector.
They also examined challenges Vietnam is facing and will face in its development, including renewable energy policies, the role of technology, credit growth and the middle-income trap.
Speaking at the conference, Vietnamese Deputy Ambassador to Australia Nghiem Xuan Hoa said Australia has accompanied Vietnam throughout the Doi Moi process. He also praised cooperation between research institutions of the two countries.
