(VOVWORLD) - Nguyen Manh Hung is the head of Long Chau lighthouse station in Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city. For nearly 20 years, Hung and his colleagues of the Northeastern Maritime Safety Company have kept the lights burning to help ships navigate the Gulf of Tonkin.

(VOVWORLD) - Runner Nguyen Thi Oanh has become the first Vietnamese track and field athlete to win 4 individual gold medals at one Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). Oanh managed to win 2 gold medals for two races scheduled 20 minutes apart at the ongoing 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. With her recent achievement, Oanh has won 12 gold medals in her career and has been dubbed “the golden girl of Vietnamese athletics”.

(VOVWORLD) - Giving up a good job in the city, Hoang Seo Chan of the Mong ethnic minority returned to his homeland in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai and started a business. He also nurtured a dream to cover the hills with trees.

(VOVWORLD) - 58-year-old Le Van Thuy from the southern province of Tien Giang is recognized by the Government as an outstanding national farmer. His 1.8ha dragon fruit is considered a role model in applying science and technology in agricultural production following the Good Agricultural Practices which brings about high productivity and export values.

(VOVWORLD) - Vu Thi Dung, a 47-year-old Hanoi woman, gave up a stable job with a good income to travel across Vietnam helping disadvantaged children. The Hope Charity Fund founded by Dung has helped more than 400 children in 30 provinces and cities in the past 10 years.

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Phinh of the Ma Lieng ethnic minority in the central province of Quang Binh was the first in his group to become a Party member and also the first in his commune to escape poverty. Phinh is ready to share his experience to help other local people improve their lives.

(VOVWORLD) - “A doctor can save a few people, but a pharmaceutical resercher can save many.” This thought led Truong Thanh Tung to study pharmacy and make great achievements in the field. Tung was one of the Top 10 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam for 2022.

(VOVWORLD) - More than 3,500 kindergarten children in the northern mountainous province of Son La have benefited from two community projects, called “Bringing up children in Moc Chau” and “Happiness for children”. The projects were initiated by young police officer Duong Hai Anh, who was honored as one of the Vietnam Outstanding Young Faces of 2022.

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Ket, a young man with disability in the central province of Quang Binh was an honoree of the 2022 Shining Vietnamese Will program. Ket, of the Khua ethnic group, overcame his disability to preserve the traditional craft of his home village.

(VOVWORLD) - Associate Professor Pham Thi Bich Dao of Hanoi Medical University Hospital has more than 25 years of experience treating diseases of the ear, nose and throat. She is the first female doctor to develop a district-level satellite hospital project that enables local hospitals to access advanced techniques and reduces overload at central level hospitals.
