(VOVWORLD) - A less expensive thyroid surgery technique that leads to less scarring has been recognized as Vietnam’s most commonly used thyroid endoscopic technique. A certificate of record was presented to the method’s inventor, the head of the National Endocrinology Hospital in Hanoi, Dr. Tran Ngoc Luong, by the Vietnam Records Organization to Dr. Luong, early this month.

Late Prime Minister turns fallow Mekong land into major rice basket

(VOVWORLD) - The Long Xuyen Quadrilateral Region used to be fallow land because of its high-alum soil. Late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet who was affectionately called “Uncle Sau Dan” by the locals ordered a new canal system dug and flood control dams and sluice gates built to prevent salt-water intrusion. Mr. Kiet’s initiative has helped millions of people in the Mekong Delta improve their livelihood.
