Themed "Thinking - Innovation - Outstanding Skills", the IMSO 2019 welcomes over 700 contestants and hundreds of experts, teachers, and observers from 24 countries and territories.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Doctor Elvira, IMSO President said the contest highlights the value of intelligence and creativity and inspires young people to study science. Vietnam has participated in the IMSO since 2015 and has won 101 medals.
