For the first time, Vietnam’s entire commercial cinema network is joining the program by offering free screenings nationwide.
During July 22-24, every cinema complex will hold two free screenings daily, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Dang Tran Cuong, Director of the Cinema Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: “The film week is being held in support of the Government’s 500-day campaign to locate, recover, and identify martyrs’ remains. The Cinema Department and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism are organizing the event to mark July 27, with all commercial cinema chains joining the program for the first time this year. A total of 1,045 screenings will be held for the public, with priority given to veterans, war invalids, and families of people who contributed to the revolution.”
Mobile cinemas, state-run cinemas, and outdoor screening venues will bring these films to communities across the country, including remote, border, and island areas.
The films, which cover the revolution and wars to liberate and unify the nation, include Don’t Burn, The Scent of Burning Grass, The Legend Makers, The Forest Route, The Legend of Quan Tien, and Red Dawn.
