(VOVworld) – Vietnam being elected a UN Human Rights Council member continues to capture both domestic and international interests. Ambassador Le Hoai Trung, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the UN, stressed that VN won the highest number of votes to become a UNHR Council member, showing international acknowledgment of the national renewal’s comprehensive achievements. He added that with this membership, Vietnam could now share more experience with the international community in this field.

Chuck Searcy, a US war veteran who has been residing in Vietnam since 1995, expressed his belief that once it had become a member of the UNHR Council, Vietnam would further its efforts in promoting basic human rights, as stated in Vietnam’s Constitution.
