(VOVWORLD) - For generations, the Tay ethnic people have known how to use forest leaves and herbs for medicinal purposes. Medicinal plants are found anywhere, from the edge of the village to the middle of the forest. But the Tay in each region have different ways of combining the plants to create a remedy. For the Tay in Ba Che district, Quang Ninh province, making medicines from plants is a recognized profession.

(VOVWORLD) -Located along the Red River dike, Thong Nhat commune in Hanoi’s outlying district of Thuong Tin is famous for glassblowing. Local artisans have created many ingenious and sophisticated glass products.

(VOVWORLD) -Yen Bai province has 15 craft villages focused on processing agricultural products and handicrafts such as wood furniture, rattan and bamboo products, ceramics, textiles, and tools. The craft villages generate jobs and increase income, helping more than 70% of the communes in Yen Bai to be recognized as new-style rural places.

(VOVWORLD) - Bamboo and rattan weaving in Phu Tan commune, Soc Trang province, is more than 100 years old. Khmer ethnic people there are combining the traditional craft preservation and tourism development to turn the commune into an attractive destination.

(VOVWORLD) -Kim Bong carpentry village is about 4 km from Hoi An city on the right bank of the Thu Bon river. The famous carpentry village is more than 600 years old.

(VOVWORLD) -Dinh Cong silver craft village in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi, dates back to the 7th century. Through ups and downs, with the perseverance, and dedication of local talented artisans, the traditional silver making craft of Dinh Cong has been restored, passed down, and become a unique feature of thousand-year-old Hanoi.

(VOVWORLD) -Con Nho, a broom-making village in Phu Binh commune, Phu Tan district, was recognized as a handicraft village in 2006 by the People's Committee of An Giang province. Investment has been made to expand the craft.

(VOVWORLD) -Sa Dec city in Dong Thap province is famous as the flower capital of the southwestern region and for its 100-year-old craft of making rice flour. A year-round source of fresh water and suitable terrain and climate have contributed to the superior quality of Sa Dec rice flour.

(VOVWORLD) -Many agricultural products of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province have proved profitable. Making rice paper in An Ngai commune, Long Dien district, for example, has generated jobs and increased local incomes.

(VOVWORLD) -Xi Thoai is a brocade weaving village of the Ba Na ethnic group in Xuan Lanh commune, Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province. It’s the first traditional craft village in that ethnic minority area. The craft was fading, but has recently been revived thanks to State incentives.
