[VOVWORLD] - As Vietnam prepares to mark the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, 2027, local authorities are stepping up a nationwide 500-day campaign to locate, recover, and identify the remains of fallen soldiers.

[VOVWORLD] - More than half a century after the war ended, the search for the remains of Vietnam’s fallen soldiers continues across mountains, forests and former battlefields. Under the Prime Minister’s 500-day campaign to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains, thousands of officials, soldiers, and local residents have joined a mission driven by gratitude and responsibility.

[VOVWORLD] - Authorities have recovered 1,109 sets of martyrs’ remains nearly three months after the launch of the 500-day campaign on March 15, according to the National Steering Committee for the Search, Recovery and Identification of Martyrs’ Remains.

[VOVWORLD] - 358 sets of martyrs’ remains were recovered between March 15 and May 6 during the “500-day-and-night campaign to search for, collect, and identify martyrs’ remains,” according to a conference held in Hanoi on Monday.

[VOVWORLD] - Vietnam’s “500-Day-and-Night Campaign” to accelerate the search, identification, and repatriation of martyrs’ remains is a special nationwide effort, requiring the collaboration of agencies and units to meet its targets, a senior military leader said Monday.

[VOVWORLD] - The Ministry of National Defense sped up the "500-day campaign to accelerate the search, recovery and identification of fallen soldiers' remains" at a conference in Hanoi on Friday.

This will not only bring hope to over 300,000 families of missing martyrs, but also fulfill Vietnamese people’s long-standing desire to identify and honor all those who sacrificed their lives for national defense.
