(VOVWORLD) - Hin hamlet in the northwestern mountainous province of Son La is known for having many Thai ethnic minority artists who can sing folk songs and play the flute, the panpipe, and the two-string fiddle.This is the result of the local authorities and people working together for many years to preserve and promote ethnic culture.

(VOVWORLD) - The Dao Khau of Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province, believe that all things that begin before the sun rises will go well, particularly for important events such as a wedding where the procession to take the bride to the groom’s house is usually held between 5 am and 8 am. Before the first gleam of daylight, Dao Khau villagers cheer the groom’s wedding delegation departing for the bride’s house. They wear splendid costumes and are accompanied by a musical group.

(VOVWORLD) - Although brocade products of the Ede ethnic minority in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak are not totally hand-made now, they still retain many old patterns. Each design has its own meaning and symbolism, which the Ede have passed down to their offspring by hands-on apprenticeships. The weaver can freely promote their creativity in production.

Each year, from the 15th day of the 9th lunar month to the next full-moon day, Theravada Buddhist Khmer people in Vietnam’s southern region joyfully celebrate the Kathina ceremony to pray for happiness, peace, favorable weather, and a bumper crop by offering robes and other items to Buddhist monks.

(VOVWORLD) - A rice steamer is a familiar item of kitchenware among the Thai ethnic minority people in Vietnam’s northwestern region. They use it to steam rice and other dishes, as well. Although the life of the Thai has changed a lot, every household still uses a wooden or bamboo steamer every day.
