(VOVWORLD) - The Khmer’s rich culture, including its unique worship ceremonies, has been developed through multiple generations. Each ceremony has rites conducted by a master of ceremonies, who is called “À Cha”. Today VOV looks at the role of À Cha among Khmer of Tra Vinh province.

(VOVWORLD) - During struggles for national liberation, many Khmer Theravada pagodas in Soc Trang province sheltered revolutionaries. In this peaceful time, the province has invested in refurbishing and promoting the values of Khmer Theravada pagodas.

(VOVWORLD) - Ancestors of the Red Dao in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai were dependent on agriculture and nature for their livelihood. They practiced an insect killing rite to protect their crops, which is called Kỉng ceng che in the Dao language.

(VOVWORLD) - Artisan H’Binh and members of the brocade weaving cooperative of N’riêng hamlet, Đak Nong province, are working hard to market their products across Vietnam. Their ambition is to promote Central Highlands culture to the wider public.

(VOVWORLD) - The New Year celebration is the biggest festival of the Dao Tien ethnic minority in Son La province. On this occasion, the head of the family hosts a ceremony to pay gratitude to the ancestors and pray for the whole family. In Moc Chau district, only the Tặng, Bàn, Đặng, and Lý clans celebrate the New Year Festival of clan.

(VOVWORLD) - Hin hamlet in Son La city is well known for Thai folksongs and flute, panpipe, and two-chord fiddle music. A club to preserve and promote Thai culture was established in the hamlet in 2020. Its 85 members are old and young villagers who share a passion for and an aspiration to promote Thai music, dance, singing, and language.

(VOVWORLD) - The Tay in Luc Yen district, Yen Bai province, have many unique and delicious dishes. Dishes made from bong fish are a special treat that the Tay make for visitors.

(VOVWORLD) - Spring is the marriage season for Thai people in northwestern Vietnam. It is their custom for a bridegroom to live with his wife’s family for 3 to 5 years before taking her to his house.

(VOVWORLD) - The Dao Khau have a set of traditional musical instruments which include a clarinet, a drum, a gong, and a pair of cymbals. The clarinet is the most difficult instrument to play.

(VOVWORLD) - At the beginning of the Lunar New year, the Tay and Nung people organize a ritual to pray for happiness and prosperity and against bad luck. The religious rite has been observed for generations.
