(VOVWORLD) - The southern province of Binh Thuan has 35 ethnic groups living together. In recent years the province has worked to preserve and promote the intangible cultural heritages of its ethnic communities.

(VOVWORLD) - Then singing, an important aspect of the Tay, Nung, and Thai culture, has been named to the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. People in Vietnam’s northern mountains say that the old Then melodies have a special attraction. The preservation and promotion of Then singing is a major concern of Then artists.

(VOVWORLD) - The Dao ethnic minority people observe many ceremonies and festivals each year. Like other Dao branches living in Vietnam’s northern mountain provinces, the Dance Festival of the Dao Tien in Son La province is the biggest community event.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Chut ethnic minority people live mainly in Bo Trach and Quang Trach district in Quang Binh province. The small Chut population have nurtured their culture and wedding customs and preserved their unique cuisine.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Chut ethnic group has a very small population, who live mainly in Bo Trach and Quang Trach districts in Quang Binh province. Some clans have been living here for more than 500 years.

(VOVWORLD) - Pa Di is a branch of the Tay ethnic group in the northern province of Lao Cai. There are about 2,000 Pa Di people living mainly in the high mountain communes of Muong Khuong district. Clothes worn by Pa Di women are different from other ethnic groups with their colorful patterns that are closely associated with their habitat of forests and mountains.

(VOVWORLD) - The Nung is the second biggest ethnic minority group and accounting for about 13% of the population in Si Ma Cai district, the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai. They live in earthen houses, which are not only a shelter but also a place that maintain many traditions and customs.

(VOVWORLD) - Hamlets in Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands have organized gong classes for children to teach them about their tradition and culture.

(VOVWORLD) - In the Central Highlands province of Dak Nong the traditional cultures of several ethnic minorities, including the M'Nong, converge. The M'Nong, one of the oldest ethnic groups in this region, continue to preserve their customs, festivals, lifestyle, and traditional long house.
