(VOVWORLD) - Original sketches of Vietnam’s national emblem by late painter Bui Trang Chuoc were on display for the very first time at an exhibition in Hanoi from August 25 to September 6. The exhibition was co-hosted by the State Records Management and Archives Department, and the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum to celebrate the 75th anniversary of National Day.

The documents are important historical records inspiring Vietnamese people’s national pride and patriotism.

They are usually figurines of animals, like turtles and birds, or people dressed in traditional outfits. (VOVWORLD) - Photos of the architecture of traditional Vietnamese villages are being displayed at an exhibition in Hanoi hosted by the Monument Conservation Institute. The exhibition, entitled “Architecture of Vietnamese Traditional Villages”, introduces six old villages in northern and central regions.

(VOVWORLD) - Minh Thanh, a club for Then singing and playing the stringed musical instrument called the Tinh, was set up in Vu Minh commune, Cao Bang province, in 2009. Under the leadership of Meritorious Artist Dinh Van Thuc, the club has helped to preserve and promote the Then and Tinh music of the Tay and Nung ethnic minorities.

(VOVWORLD) - A musical program entitled “The sound of hope” was recently staged at Hanoi’s Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Centre with performances by a special band called Music Band Hope. The show is part of Hanoi’s activities to promote Vietnam’s music and support the less fortunate artists.

(VOVWORLD) - The practice of worshiping the Hung Kings in Phu Tho province was recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s intangible cultural heritage in 2012. The Hung Kings ritual, which has existed for thousands of years, shows the enduring vitality of Vietnamese culture.
