These heritages have the potential to become main tourism products, playing an important role in the preservation and development of the city’s unique values and culture.

(VOVWORLD) - Kim Hoang is a folk painting genre which originated in Kim Hoang village, Hanoi, in the late 18th century. The genre, which came close to falling into oblivion, has been revived by Van Canh villagers.

(VOVWORLD) - Dong Mon village in Hai Phong city is known as the cradle of Ca Tru (ceremonial) singing in Vietnam’s northern coastal region. A former Ca Tru singing mainstay with many famous female singers and lute players, Dong Mon has made Ca Tru singing an essential part of the locals’ daily life over the past 2 centuries.

(VOVWORLD) - Returning for the eleventh time this year, Hue Festival 2020, which is scheduled from April 1 to 6, is marking its 20-year milestone since its debut. This year’s festival is expected to feature a variety of innovative events.

(VOVWORLD) - Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands has opened classes on Gong playing for students from ethnic minorities to help them learn the core values of Gong culture. Tay Nguyen University is the vanguard in this endeavor.

(VOVWORLD) - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has been accompanying Vietnam in protecting, preserving, and promoting the country’s cultural heritages. The goal is to create a future based on the bond between past and present.

(VOVWORLD) - Approved by the Prime Minister in May 2009, Vietnam’s Cultural Development Strategy until 2020 with specific tasks for developing Vietnam’s cultural sector has produced positive results.

(VOVWORLD) - UNESCO has recognized the singing of "Then" by the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic communities as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The ethnic communities, as well as performers, are encouraged to do more to preserve and promote the practice of “Then” singing to a wider public.

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has carried out various activities to raise the people’s intellectual standards, including a project to bring books to poor neighborhoods and schools in Hoa Binh province. These are part of the government’s collective effort to improve education for minorities living in the highlands and other remote regions of Vietnam.
