Northern ethnic minority music gains foothold in Central Highlands

(VOVWORLD) - Then singing and the Tinh musical instruments have long been an inseparable part of spiritual life of Tay and Nung ethnic peoples in the northern provinces of Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, and Tuyen Quang. When they moved to different areas to settle down, they brought their unique customs. A number of Then singing clubs have been established across Vietnam, nurturing the souls of many Tay and Nung ethnic people living away from their hometowns.

(VOVWORLD) - Winners of a writing contest marking the 1,010th anniversary of Thang Long-Ha Noi were honoured during a ceremony held in the capital city last month. Organised by the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO), the contest “Hanoi in my heart” offered a chance for international friends and overseas Vietnamese to express their sentiments of Hanoi, thus enhancing understanding about the “City for Peace”.

(VOVWORLD) - A group of intellectuals from Hanoi’s Ha Dong district received one of the two Job Prizes at Bui Xuan Phai Awards 2020 for the donation of about 150 royal decrees to localities. More than 80 of which were given to temples in Hanoi.

The display, which also featured publications of the poem and Nguyen Du’s literary works, was part of cultural celebrations for the great poet’s 255th birth anniversary and 200th death anniversary.
