(VOVWORLD) - Young artists of Vinschool’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Center proudly showed off their lacquer paintings at the recent “Hippocampus'' exhibition in Hanoi. Thủy Tiên has the story.

(VOVWORLD) - A series of cultural activities entitled “Story of Pottery” are underway to introduce some craft villages in Hanoi and other places. The event will run through the end of this month.

(VOVWORLD) - 8 students from Hanoi’s Vinschool Secondary School are showcasing their art works to the public at the “Hippocampus'' exhibition, starting from earlier this month in downtown Hanoi. These young artists are part of Vinschool’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Center, which provides necessary training and support for students to cultivate their talents.

(VOVWORLD) - A group of folk music artists have joined a project by researcher Nguyen Quang Long to honor Vietnam’s 18th century masterpiece ‘Truyen Kieu’ (The Tale of Kieu) by poet Nguyen Du (1765-1820). All 3,254 verses of the epic poem were recited and recorded in a total time of nearly 10 hours and introduced to the public on Long’s YouTube Channel ‘Folklore Songs and Music’.

(VOVWORLD) - Mong embroidery and traditional costume sewing has been practiced in Son la province’s Van Ho district for many generations. Mong people usually make their own clothes, especially for Tet, the traditional lunar New Year holiday, when the members of a Mong family make themselves at least 1 or 2 new outfits. An effort is being made at all levels to preserve this custom.

(VOVWORLD) - A photo exhibition on Vietnam’s border areas opened in Hanoi late last month, showcasing 100 outstanding works, including 21 award-winning photos from a previous contest with the same theme.

(VOVWORLD) - Y Ngong Nie Kdam secondary school in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak is offering students the opportunity to play the gong and demonstrate their ethnic culture after the flag-raising ceremony each Monday. This is part of efforts to nurture the students’ passion for their culture.

(VOVWORLD) - Mainly residing in the central region of Vietnam, the Co Tu ethnic people have many unique cultural practices such as Ly singing, Tung Tung Da Da or Co Tu’s dance of offering to the heaven, as well as drum and gong playing, which have been closely associated with their daily lives for many generations. Acknowledging the importance of preserving these valuable cultural traditions, Co Tu elders have been working hard to collect and restore them.

(VOVWORLD) - On a spring day in 2021, a male team of bamboo gong performers from Kmrong Prong A hamlet met their female peers from Kbu hamlet in the Central Highlands city of Buon Ma Thuot. They exchanged experiences about performin the bamboo gong, also known as Ching kram, a traditional musical instrument of the Ede ethnic group in the Central Highlands.
