(VOVWORLD) - Facing the risk of its culture fading away, Lai Chau province has begun teaching local people how to write their ethnic minority language, make their traditional costumes, and do other traditional crafts.

(VOVWORLD) - The “Khan ran” (scarf with checkered pattern) has long been an inseparable part of the traditional costumes of people in the Mekong Delta. This cultural emblem has been captured and depicted in a new book by Nham Hung.

(VOVWORLD) - Since joining UNESCO's Creative Cities Network in 2019, Hanoi has created a number of unique cultural events and projects. The capital city boasts numerous advantages and potentials to develop creative spaces which have formed part of its distinct cultural identity. More than a hundred creative spaces are currently operating in Hanoi, a positive sign that reflects the role and contributions of culture and the arts to the spiritual and cultural life of local residents.

(VOVWORLD) - Winners of the program “Sounds of Brotherhood” were honored at a ceremony in Hanoi last month. Organized by the World Youth Orchestra Foundation and the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies (VICAS), the program aims to promote creativity and innovation, support and develop expertise, facilitate connections and cooperation, and provide financial support to Vietnamese artists for their art projects.

(VOVWORLD) - As most ofthe Khmerethnic minority people in Vietnam are followers ofTheravada Buddhism, they build pagodas wherever they live. Pagodas are a place for spiritual and religious activities, for social interaction, and for preserving traditional cultural values. Pagodas hold a great importance in the cultural life of the Khmer community.

(VOVWORLD) - At Ho Chi Minh cultural spaces at schools in Binh Duong province, students can watch documentary films about the life and career of President Ho Chi Minh, read stories about him, and participate in educational games. Those activities help educate the younger generation about Vietnam’s tradition of patriotism and encourage them to strive harder in their studies and in their life.

(VOVWORLD) - The Rong house is a sacred symbol of several ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands, including the Xo Dang. With the support of authorities at all levels, the Xo Dang have encouraged artisans and local people to restore and preserve the traditional Rong houses for later generations.

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum has received a musical composition “Little Thuy’s Minuet” from British musician Paul Zetter. Zetter was inspired to compose this piece when he saw the painting “Em Thuy” (Little Thuy) by well-known painter Tran Van Can (1910-1994) during his visit to the museum in 2000.

(VOVWORLD) - The show “Facing Infinity” debuted recently at the Hong Ha Theater in Hanoi, bringing the audience a new, creative approach to traditional theater. This is a collaborative project undertaken by the Lên Ngàn cultural hub, the Vietnam National Tuong Theatre,and choreographer Tu Hoang.

(VOVWORLD) - During the summer, ethnic minority children in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak have been learning how to play the gong, perform Xoang dancing, and write poems. These activities are helping the children enjoy their summer vacation to the fullest before returning to school for a new academic year.
