With the support of authorities at all levels, the Xo Dang have encouraged artisans and local people to restore and preserve the traditional Rong houses for later generations.

British musical composition “Little Thuy’s Minuet” portrays Vietnamese women’s beauty and soul

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam Fine Arts Museum has received a musical composition “Little Thuy’s Minuet” from British musician Paul Zetter. Zetter was inspired to compose this piece when he saw the painting “Em Thuy” (Little Thuy) by well-known painter Tran Van Can (1910-1994) during his visit to the museum in 2000.

“Facing infinity” combines contemporary dance and traditional theater

(VOVWORLD) - The show “Facing Infinity” debuted recently at the Hong Ha Theater in Hanoi, bringing the audience a new, creative approach to traditional theater. This is a collaborative project undertaken by the Lên Ngàn cultural hub, the Vietnam National Tuong Theatre,and choreographer Tu Hoang.

(VOVWORLD) -Cheo (popular opera) in Dai Thanh commune used to be one the four most famous art forms in Hanoi’s Quoc Oai district in the old time, together with Liep Tuyet dô singing, Sai Son puppetry, and Duong Coc tuong theatrical singing. Cheo has been part of the life of villagers of all ages. They sing cheo whenever and wherever they feel like it, even when working in a field.

“Dialogue” exhibition highlights lacquer art

(VOVWORLD) - An exhibition called "Dialogue" combining lacquerware, music, and 3D art videos is underway in Hanoi. It is the debut exhibition of De.lac, a group of artists carrying out art projects inspired by lacquer. The group includes painter Truong Hoang Hai, painter Nguyen Quang Vu, and painter and VFX artist Nguyen Doan Quang Huy.
