Keeping the faith: Khmer monks revive ancient script art

(VOVWORLD) - To the Khmer people in southern Vietnam, a collection of ancient, rare Buddhist scriptures preserved on palm leaves are a lodestar for educating their children. These manuscripts are considered sacred treasures with profound spiritual value. But these scriptures are now at risk of being lost. Government agencies, religious leaders, and the Khmer community are working to preserve the engraving technique that has been used to create and copy these sacred texts.
