May 19 has been observed as Vietnam Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day since 2008 as part of Vietnam’s national target programs on socio-economic, educational and cultural development. This year’s event draws patriarchs, artisans and people from many ethnic minority groups from across Vietnam including Muong, Thai, Kho Mu, E De, San Chay, Dao, Ta Oi, Khmer , Lo Lo, H’re, Gia Rai and Co Tu.

“The participants not only showcase their cultures but also take part in cultural exchanges with other ethnic groups,” said Lam Van Khang, Acting Head of the Management Board of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture.
