The trip until next Friday is made at the invitation of IPU President Tulia Ackson and IPU Secretary General Martin Chungong.

This is the first official overseas trip of NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man following the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, and the consolidation of the state apparatus of Vietnam for the new term.

The trip contributes to affirming Vietnam's new position and foreign policy mindset; demonstrates Vietnam's strong support for multilateralism and the rule of international law, and further shows Vietnam's respect for and responsible contribution to the IPU, deepening relations with countries and partners.

This is the first visit to Turkey by the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly in eight years. It is an opportunity for both sides to strengthen political trust, deepen cooperation between the two National Assemblies in particular, and promote substantive bilateral relations in general.

His visit to Italy is an opportunity for both sides to realize the Joint Declaration of the high-level leaders of the two countries on strengthening the Vietnam-Italy Strategic Partnership. On this occasion, Chairman Man will meet with Pope Leo XIV and the Vatican's Secretary of State Pietro Parolin.
