(VOVWORLD) - The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam represents a particularly significant milestone in Vietnam’s development. It opens a new era, during which Vietnam is determined to realize two centennial goals: the Party’s 100th founding anniversary and the country’s 100th founding while striving to achieve developed, high-income status by 2045.

The 14th National Party Congress has been likened to a second national renewal, reflecting the strong political resolve of the entire Party, the armed forces, and the people to lead the country into a new era of national rise.
A special milestone
In the history of the Party and the nation, each National Party Congress has marked a defining moment, reflecting new advances in the Party’s thinking, vision, and leadership capacity. The 14th Congress takes place in a particularly significant context, as Vietnam enters a decisive phase in realizing its mid-21st-century development aspirations of building a strong, prosperous country where people enjoy happiness and well-being.
Nguyen Duc Ha is former Director of the Grassroots Party Organization Department under the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission. He said: "The 14th National Party Congress not only reviews the past five years, but also sums up 40 years of national renewal. It sets goals, orientations, and tasks for the next five years, leading up to 2030 when the Party celebrates its 100th founding anniversary. The Congress also outlines directions and objectives for the subsequent 15 years, or three further terms, toward 2045, the centenary of the country. That is why this Congress carries greater weight and a broader scope than any before. It marks an entire period in which we enter a new era.”
The documents submitted to the Congress demonstrate a strategic vision, innovative thinking, and strong determination across the board, from the economy to culture, society, and human development.

Party General Secretary To Lam emphasized: “The documents must serve as a ‘guiding torch’ for our path forward, embodying the essence and values of the past, present, and future while upholding core principles that the Party holds the leadership and governance, and national interests, along with the well-being and happiness of the people, are the top priority above all.”
Determined to lead the country into a new development phase
The 14th National Party Congress represents a turning point, reaffirming more clearly than ever the Party’s determination to lead the country into a new phase of development. This is a period defined by strong growth, transformative breakthroughs, and the aspiration to achieve prosperity by the mid-21st century
Amid rapid and complex global and regional developments, the Congress is expected to continue demonstrating the Party’s vision and wisdom in identifying opportunities and challenges, and in formulating sound, breakthrough policies. These include breakthroughs in development institutions; science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; building a contingent of capable, ethical, and reputable cadres; and unlocking and harnessing all resources, especially the potential of the Vietnamese people.
Professor Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Association of History Science, said: “We have gone through an 80-year journey of preparation, and now comes a leap forward. This Congress marks a new era of national development when the nation enjoys prosperity and is capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s major powers.”
