(VOVWORLD) - February 3 marks the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam. During nearly a century of development, the relationship between the Party and the people has been fundamental and vital. In the new stage of development “the Party in people’s hearts” is a measure of public trust, social consensus, and national strength.

When he founded the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930, Nguyen Ai Quoc/Ho Chí Minh defined the Party’s goal for the nation: to achieve complete national independence and advance to a communist society. To realize this lofty goal, the Party needs the strength of the people.
Vital core values
The Communist Party of Vietnam was founded for the people and for the nation. Its ideals stem from the aspiration for national independence and People’s happiness. The consistent principle throughout all historical periods has been that the interests of the People are the interests of the Party.
Public trust in the Party is built not on words, but on actions, the effectiveness of governance, the fairness in benefits, the protection of people’s legitimate rights and interests, and the timely and thorough resolution of people’s concerns.
Born from the people, the Party considers serving the people its vital mission. Whether during the struggle for national liberation or during the national construction of peacetime, the Party always recognizes the people as the center and the stakeholders of all work. Staying close to the people, understanding their needs, and knowing what must be done for them are essential for a ruling party to consolidate its position in the hearts of the people.
The Party’s decisions gain public support because they are directly linked to essential interests such as social security, education, healthcare, employment, income, and quality of life. Healthcare policies, efforts to improve education, the construction of thousands of schools in remote, border, and island areas, and programs to help people overcome natural disasters have demonstrated the Party’s people-centered nature.
Secretary of Hai Phong City Party Committee Le Tien Chau said, “All Party guidelines and State policies place the people at the center. The people are the objective and the driving force in policy-making. Policy enforcement serves the legitimate rights and interests of the people and promotes their mastery, because the people are the masters, and the people exercise mastery.”

Ho Quang Loi, former Head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Commission of Communications and Education, said the Party’s leadership is defined by legal documents and lives in the hearts of the people. This has been a historical process from the Party’s founding to the present and beyond.
“The interests of the People are the interests of the Party and its enduring objective throughout history. Despite hardships and challenges, the Party has survived and developed because it remains in the hearts of the people, protected, safeguarded, and trusted by them,” said Mr. Loi.
Unity strength in new era
Vietnam is facing major opportunities for breakthrough amid rapid global changes driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, particularly artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Failure to seize these opportunities and take a big leap forward would pose a real risk of falling behind.
In this journey, public trust in the Party is an invaluable asset. To preserve and strengthen this asset, the Party must continuously renew and rectify itself, resolutely fight corruption, waste, and negative practices, and build a clean, strong Party closely bonded with the people.

“I believe that our comrades will steer our country toward even greater victories to successfully implement the resolutions and orientations set by the 14th National Party Congress.”
“The public strongly expects that the country will develop with GDP growth in double digits. The people will benefit from the country’s remarkable economic achievements. We believe the new leadership of the Party Central Committee will dedicate their wisdom and capability to serve the Party and the people.”
Public trust in the Party and the Party serving the people create indomitable strength for the nation to overcome all challenges and achieve its goal of becoming a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030, and a developed, high-income country by 2045.
The future path is clear: national independence associated with socialism – the path chosen by the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. With the Party’s leadership and great national unity, Vietnam has a firm foundation to realize its aspirations of a prosperous people, a strong nation, democracy, fairness, and civilization in the new era.
