Arab foreign ministers reaffirm support for advancing Palestinian statehood in Slovenia talks

(VOVWORLD) - The foreign ministers of five Arab countries: Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain and Qatar issued a joint statement joint statement calling for efforts to advance the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saturday during their discussions with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Slovenia in Ljubljana.

In the statement, the Arab foreign ministers reaffirmed the need to accelerate the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, describing this as the only path towards a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East.

They also stressed the importance of fully implementing the Gaza peace agreement under the initiative to end the war proposed by US President Donald Trump.
