(VOVWORLD) - The People’s Public Security Intelligence force needs to pursue strong innovation in thinking and organization, enhance strategic vision and stay one step ahead as the country enters a new phase of development, said Party General Secretary To Lam.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the force’s 80th anniversary and to present the force with the Ho Chi Minh Order in Hanoi on Sunday, Party General Secretary To Lam praised the achievements and contributions of the People’s Public Security Intelligence over the past 80 years, affirming that generations of intelligence officers have consistently demonstrated strong political steadfastness and absolute loyalty to the Party, the State and the people.
They have constantly strived to overcome all difficulties and challenges, successfully fulfilling the political tasks entrusted to them.
He noted that Vietnam is entering a pivotal historical phase, a new era marked by new opportunities. Looking ahead to the centenary of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030 and the centenary of the nation in 2045, the Party has set the goal of building Vietnam into a strong, prosperous and happy country by 2045.

As the “sword” and “shield” safeguarding the regime, the Party, the State and the people, the People’s Public Security Force in general, and the Intelligence Force in particular, play a vital role. To meet the requirements of the new era, he called for bold renewal in thinking, organizational breakthroughs, strong force building and a far-sighted strategic vision.
The Party General Secretary expressed his confidence that with their courage, intellect, relentless efforts and strong political determination, the People’s Public Security Intelligence Force will continue to record new achievements and feats, making important and effective contributions to the cause of national construction and defense in the new era.
At the ceremony, Party General Secretary To Lam presented the Ho Chi Minh Order to the People’s Public Security Intelligence Force, and conferred the title of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces along with other high-level commendations on outstanding collectives and individuals of the force.
