At Bac Luan Bridge I, the project will introduce biometric identification technologies including facial and fingerprint recognition, along with an automated border control system, or eGate, aimed at reducing processing times.
“We will expand the scope and boundaries of the border gate to invest in expanding the space and area for immigration and customs clearance, and increase the automated control flow,” said Dang Minh Tuan, vice head of the Quang Ninh Border Gate Management Board.
For cargo transport at Bac Luan Bridge II, authorities will pilot intelligent guided vehicles using 5G technology and a modern positioning system, and develop a mono-rail transport model.
“We will implement a smart border gate model, increase the number of dedicated lanes, upgrade the import and export customs clearance capacity, and coordinate with the Chinese side to research and build cross-border infrastructure to serve the smart border gate operation," Tuan noted.
