(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport handled a record number of passengers on Wednesday, processing more than 160,000 travellers across over 1,000 flights in a single day.

The figure marks the highest daily volume in the airport’s history and surpassed earlier forecasts, even though the peak travel period for the Lunar New Year holiday has yet to begin.
To cope with rising demand, the airport has continuously updated its smart flight information display system at terminal screens to help passengers track flight details and reduce confusion between terminals.
Check in counters, baggage conveyor belts and departure gates have been rearranged for flexibility during peak hours, while biometric identification technology has been deployed in the boarding area of Terminal 3 to shorten processing times and ease congestion.
