(VOVworld) – EC President Jose Manuel Barroso visited HCM city and met with representatives from European businesses, the European Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General. He told European businesses that the EU appreciated its comprehensive partnership with Vietnam. He praised Vietnam as the EU’s important and reliable partner with a potential market, adding that the EU supported Vietnam’s efforts to become an industrial nation by 2020.

The EC President also visited the Museum of War Vestiges, the Opera House, the Grand Cathedral, and the city Post Office. He was later received by the city’s mayor Le Hoang Quan.
