The PM made the proposal at a meeting on Saturday in Hanoi with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Vietnam, Yousef Ashour Al-Sabbagh, where the two sides discussed measures to advance their Strategic Partnership. Amid complex developments in the Middle East, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance that disputes must be resolved peacefully through dialogue, in accordance with international law, while expressing hope for an early restoration of peace in the region.
On the economic front, he urged both sides to accelerate negotiations on a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and to further strengthen business connectivity between the two countries.
Ambassador Al-Sabbagh affirmed Kuwait’s continued commitment to close cooperation with Vietnam in ensuring energy security. He also noted that the Kuwaiti government is working to provide necessary support for its citizens and foreign residents, including Vietnamese nationals.
The ambassador pledged to encourage Kuwaiti energy corporations and investment funds to expand their presence in Vietnam, contributing to a more substantive, effective, and trustworthy Strategic Partnership.
