(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and the Liverpool City Council on Wednesday launched a cultural exchange program between these twin cities to celebrate the upgrading of Vietnam–UK relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2025.

The two-day program includes a Vietnamese art showcase and performance of songs by the Liverpool rock band The Beatles.
In addition, participants can explore the "Liverpool 360° VR Experience", an immersive virtual reality journey through the British city, "Mini Anfield Stadium Activation", a football experience inspired by Anfield Stadium, and the "Twin Cities Digital Gallery", a digital exhibition showcasing Ho Chi Minh City and Liverpool.
Officials said their cities shared many similarities and are both creative, people-centered urban centers where tradition and modernity coexist.
Last October, HCMC and Liverpool signed a memorandum of understanding, marking the first time a locality in the United Kingdom has established twinship with a locality in Vietnam.
