(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting 2027 in Phu Quoc is a high-level diplomatic event of special significance and a rare opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam as an integrated, innovative, friendly, and dynamic country to the world, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Chinh chaired the second meeting of the National APEC 2027 Committee in the Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang province. He said that successfully hosting the APEC 2027 is not only a source of pride for An Giang province, but also plays a crucial role in enhancing Vietnam's international standing in the era of deep integration and global competition.
The event will also create a strong impetus for the development of the Phu Quoc Special Zone and An Giang province, boost investment, tourism, trade, and infrastructure throughout the Mekong Delta region and the entire country.
Regarding the theme and message of the meeting, the Prime Minister suggested such elements as solidarity, sustainable development, digital transformation, green transformation, security, safety, people's well-being, science and technology, databases, artificial intelligence, people-centeredness, and the role of the people as the main actors.
The Prime Minister requested that the opportunity to host the APEC 2027 must be fully utilized to promote the image of a confident, self-reliant, independent, peaceful, civilized, cultured, hospitable, thoughtful, and sincere Vietnam.
