(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary To Lam on Friday called on former US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt M. Campbell to continue serving as a trusted bridge between Vietnam and the US, as well as with the business community and international partners.

Speaking at a meeting with Mr. Campbell in Washington, D.C., General Secretary Lam stressed the need to provide strategic analysis on global economic, technological and policy trends; strengthen connections between US businesses and strategic investors with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities, especially in high-tech fields, finance, digital infrastructure and clean energy; and encourage US businesses to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam while improving governance standards and market transparency.
The Party leader emphasized that the success of investors is the success of Vietnam, reaffirming commitment to continuously improving the investment environment, maintaining political and social stability, enhancing institutional quality, and creating the most favorable conditions for international businesses to develop sustainably and effectively. Vietnam desires deeper cooperation with the international business community, sharing responsibilities and benefits in sustainable development, he said.
Mr. Campbell stated that the US business community and partners highly appreciate Vietnam's investment environment, considering Vietnam a strategic destination in the global supply chain and innovation and affirming their readiness to continue supporting and promoting economic cooperation, investment, and business connections between the two countries.
