Vietnam concerned about US’s additional tariffs on oil suppliers of Cuba
(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam is deeply concerned about the new measure by the US to impose additional tariffs on goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on Monday, adding it will seriously impact the economic and social activities as well as the lives of the Cuban people.

In response to a reporter's question on Vietnam's reaction to the US announcement on January 29, 2026, of additional tariffs on goods from countries supplying oil to Cuba, the spokesperson said Vietnam repeated its support for resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly over the years, calling on the United States to immediately lift its unilateral blockade and embargo against Cuba and to take steps toward dialogue and improving relations with Cuba.
