Vietnam, Jordan eye bilateral trade of 1 billion USD by 2035
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and Jordan have agreed to work towards raising two-way trade to 500 million USD by 2030 and 1 billion USD by 2035; to further open markets for each other’s key products; and to support one another in ensuring food security and developing the Halal industry.

During a meeting in Hanoi on Tuesday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and visiting speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives Mazen Turki El Qadi also reached consensus on intensifying exchanges of delegations at all levels and establishing bilateral cooperation frameworks and permanent representative offices in each other’s capitals.
The two leaders agreed to promote the signing of important agreements on visa exemption, investment protection and the avoidance of double taxation.

PM Chinh pledged stable supply of high-quality agro-fishery products to Jordan, welcomed Jordanian businesses to explore investment and business opportunities in Vietnam, and proposed studying the application of Jordan’s coral reef-based technology for combating saltwater intrusion in Vietnam.
The Jordanian guest suggested establishing a free trade zone for Vietnamese goods in Jordan for export to the Middle East, and forming joint ventures in potential sectors.
