(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong and John Kitzhaber, Governor of the State of Oregon, recently discussed ways to boost cooperation. The two on Wednesday praised their flourishing cooperation in education, training, trade, investment, and search and rescue work, and highlighted the great improvement in Vietnam-US ties requested by negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement. They agreed to back an initiative setting up a cooperation mechanism between Vietnam and Oregon in existing and new development fields. With a population of nearly 4 million, Oregon posted a gross domestic product of 220 billion USD last year. The city of Portland, Oregon, is a model city for environment-friendly development and maintaining a high living standard for its residents.
